holiday is just as much a mental state as a physical location

that's what the voice said today as we took the tram from the north terminal to the south terminal at gatwick... but that's getting ahead of myself.

my flight to atlanta was normal, minus the kid with the monkey backpack leash and the fact that they started counting down how many minutes we had till take off to ensure we didn't miss our time slot.

After landing, I made my way to the gate for my London flight and had my final american meal, arby's complete with a jamocha shake. The flight was long (duh) but not as painful as to Kenya. However, it is official I am cursed when it comes to in-flight entertainment systems.

I decided that I should at least try to figure out who is part of the study abroad seminar with me though I was too shy to introduce myself, so I literally just stalked them from atlanta to london. I figured out who the girls were because they were all wearing greek letters and one of the guys had the text book out. I then just stood near them waiting for my bag until someone asked where we go next and I was the one that knew. Oh and by the way I was on of the lightest packers!! However, I still had to lug my bag all around campus finding our way to the res hall. I am on the third floor (in american lingo the 4th) of a building with no elevator. Just when I thought this would be a preview of moving in to Strack 1 the nice man at the desk offered to carry my bag, and he just put it right on top of his head and walked up the three flights. Amazing. I will be erecting the statue of him in the park next week.

Regent's officially looks like a storybook on the outside.

And life lesson of the day: if you just have to send in a picture for you i.d. just email one you use as a profile pic on facebook, don't take one using your computer's camera. i look worse than my marquette id by a LOT, which i did not even know was possible seeing as it had been raining that day and i have red eyes in the picture.

anywho, off to find cute british boys... and learn something. also, i promise this will get more interesting as time goes on.
